Lisa was born and raised for the the first 9 years of her life in Asia which led to a life long interest in Eastern cultures. Her Mum also taught yoga so thus her love for yoga was always bubbling under the surface and just had to wait to be discovered until her early 20s.
She has been teaching yoga full time since 2014 and is a Yoga Alliance 500hr accredited teacher trained in ashtanga vinyasa, hatha, prenatal yoga & hypnobirthing. Her aim is not to teach you handstand (even though that can be fun) but the main thing she would like you to gain from practicing with her is to learn how to come back to yourself after a stressful day & help you find peace & space within which helps to make everything manageable again.
In terms of the physical side of her teaching, she focuses on simpler poses done with full engagement, breath & presence, preferring to teach healthy, functional movement and lots of circular, opening movements as opposed to extreme backbends or arm balances.
To Lisa the practice is a tool to create space & stability in the body, the mind and the breath.
